English Maple Spring & SUmmer Growth Video
Today we have a short video showing the spring growth, and then the summer growth of an English Maple Bonsai Tree. Much of the enjoyment for us and fellow bonsai enthusiasts is seeing beautiful trees develop over the seasons and we find maples have a little something to offer for every season. During winter when all the leaves have dropped we are able to check the inner structure of the tree and really get to see what is going on in the tree. It is also a good time to check for any disease or pests.
As you can see in this picture, the Winter visible structure of this tree is beautiful and makes winter time something to really look forward to. This Mountain Maple Bonsai tree almost looks better in winter than any other time, but saying that the autumn colors are pretty stunning as well.

Spring is our favorite season for the obvious reason that we get to see all of our trees waking up. All the new buds are starting to swell and we can see which branches have made it through the winter and which branches are likely to die off. Spring is a good time for a lot of bonsai trees to be re-potted and a busy time for the bonsai enthusiast. Every season shows off different bonsai species at different times, and in spring our first trees to steal the show will be the Deshojo Acer trees. The Deshojo Acer bonsai tree is highly sought after because of it's fire red leaves in spring. They are very beautiful to watch develop over the summer and because of this fire red display ,we always look forward to spring.
Summer is a nice time because all of the leaves are out on the trees and the weather is hopefully warm enough to be spending some time outside in the garden with your trees. During the growing season we will feed our trees every 2-3 weeks and will generally feed them Biogold block feed and Seaweed liquid fertilizer. Some trees will need a specialist diet like Azalea and you will need to buy an ericaceous feed for them.
Autumn time is lovely for some trees in particular like maples. Acers will start to change their leaf colors and depending on your trees you will see reds, oranges and yellows. The Maple tree featured in this video will turn yellow and we are looking forward to filming this.
During the year different trees will steal the show in your garden and in ours the first to steal the show is our Deshojo Bonsai that display fire red leaves in spring. The next trees to really grab ones attention will be our Azalea when they flower, and then Autumn time will show off all of the Maples turning beautiful reds and yellows.
We have a show table in our garden that we show off the tree of most interest at that particular time. This is situated close to the house so that we can see them in all weathers.
We hope you enjoy the video and thanks for visiting.
Kind regards
