Deshojo Bonsai Tree

A good quality Deshojo Bonsai tree is quite hard to come by in the UK and they are one of the Holy Grail of bonsai trees. What makes a Deshojo Bonsai tree so special is the fire red leaves that come out in spring. Just when the rest of the garden is starting to wake up the Deshojo Bonsai Tree will steal the show with stunning leaf colors. These trees are always the ones commented on by people at the start of spring. They hold their red color very well unlike an Azalea Bonsai tree that has a much shorter flowering time frame.

The Deshojo Bonsai Tree pictured above is just coming into leaf showing off the start of the fire red leaves. When the sun hits the leaves they light up fire red which is beautiful to see. This particular tree has been grown from seed in the UK and is around 25 years old. We do not know of many Deshojo trees that have been grown from seed in the UK. The nebari is coming along well, and depending on the buyers preference, this tree could be trained to fit into a shallower pot. This is quite a large tree.

The above picture is the same tree as the first picture and shows the leaves further developed. This picture would be amazing if the tree was against a black background to really showcase the fire red leaves. This Deshojo tree is one of our favorite at the moment and it will be bitter sweet when we sell it. We look forward to seeing how this tree progresses throughout the season and will update this page with more pictures.

Pricing Trees
People often look shocked when they find out the price of a bonsai tree, and think that someone is trying to rip them off. Bonsai trees are expensive because someone has looked after them for many years, and our imported Japanese trees have had a Nursery team looking after them for decades. So when you buy a bonsai tree you are essentially paying for time spent on the tree. We stock a 90 year old Japanese White Pine and it is crazy to think that people have fed, watered, re-potted, rewired, etc this tree for so long. So when you are looking at a bonsai tree and checking the price consider the time spent on the tree and salaries that need to be paid to \Nursery workers etc and this will help you to understand why Bonsai Trees are not cheap.
