Bonsai Tree Care
Bonsai trees need to be looked after in order to maintain the health of the tree. Some types of tree will be more complicated to look after than others and it is important to do your research prior to purchasing one. They really are not difficult to keep alive and healthy if you check up on them each week and prune, fertilise and re-pot when needed.

Japanese White Pine:
The Japanese White Pine is a beautiful tree and must live outside all year round. They will happily withstand temperature reaching minus 17 degrees C. It is important to know what you want to do with the tree before understanding how to care for it. If you are looking to develop the tree then it will require a slightly different approach to refining the tree. The Japanese White Pine will only have one growth spurt per year, and this is an important time for the tree. Some of the new growth will need to be thinned out to control the growth of the tree. Again exactly how you go about this process will depend on which areas of the tree you want to develop.
It is always best to re-pot this type of tree just after it has started to bud when the energy of the tree is in the tree as opposed to it's roots . There are many grey areas of care when it comes to bonsai care, If you are looking to create a show quality bonsai then you will need to research the individual tree heavily. But if you are just looking to have a nice looking bonsai tree in your garden, then you can take a slightly more relaxed approach to it's care...but do not neglect it :)
